Structured Summary
Abstract
BASIC HELIX-LOOP-HELIX PROTEINS encoded by the c-myc genes. They are normally involved in nucleic acid metabolism and in mediating the cellular response to growth factors. Elevated and deregulated (constitutive) expression of c-myc proteins can cause tumorigenesis.
