It functions in many cellular and developmental processes that include remodeling of the EXTRACELLULAR MATRIX; CELL MIGRATION; CELL DIFFERENTIATION; and CELL PROLIFERATION; as well as OSTEOGENESIS and the maturation of CHONDROCYTES.
